About Me

My current job (and absolutely the most important one I’ve ever had) is Mom.   I have three wonderful children; an almost 10 year old daughter and six year old identical twin sons.    This is by far the most challenging job I’ve ever held, but it is also the most rewarding.   In my past pre-kid life I have been a librarian, a felony intake clerk, a bank teller, a career counselor, an event manager and a marketing/advertising exec.   As eclectic as my resume is I have used pieces of that past knowledge in my current position already and I’m sure I will have the opportunity to do so again.

I sometimes get grief from well-intentioned busybodies who say I have too much education to stay home.   (I have Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Communication w/ a focus on Publication and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in Aviation.)   Yep, that means I’m qualified to run the marketing department of any major airport, but instead I’m sitting home waiting for the bus to bring my darlings back so that I can help them navigate kindergarten and 4th grade homework and I AM TOTALLY GOOD WITH THAT!  (and really as long as DH is too who else has the right to share their opinion?!)

If I had to go back and get a real job I would want to be a college professor.   DH thinks it’s just ’cause I would stay in college forever if I could and while there may be some truth to that I don’t think that is the real reason.   I had several awesome professors at Flagler College that made their jobs seem like the best in the world (and they had families too) so I think that’s why it appeals so much.   Plus my mom was a teacher and I know that I lack the patience to deal with elementary school, middle or most likely even high school so that leaves college as my only option.   Who knows, I might not have the patience for that either, but I like to think that I have at least a tiny bit of patience so maybe.

The things I like to do best are read, write, shop, spend time with my family and plan parties so that is a lot of what I will blog about.   Hopefully you will find at least some of it interesting and entertaining.

Welcome to my world.   Feel free to hang out awhile.
